Position Description

This is a MANAGEMENT POSITION, responsible for working across different disciplines.

We need a Design Director/ Manager to drive our mission forward. Working across different disciplines, you will direct our teams to create smart, valuable design solutions across diverse industries, scales, and mediums.

You will inspire and motivate staff, clients and partners, guiding them through all stages of our design process, including research, briefing, design, documentation, and construction.

You will be empowered to teach, learn, grow and share while contributing your creativity, knowledge, and skills to our business and projects.


What you’ll do• Liaise with clients to ensure project briefs are acquired, interrogated and understood by our project teams

  • Provide leadership and management support to our design teams, including technical advice, coaching and guidance – empowering them to do their best work

  • Ensure OUT-2 Design's mission, standards, philosophies and objectives are understood and underpin all of our projects

  • Develop and monitor project schedules and resourcing using our ArchiOffice software system (we will provide software training)

  • Ensure the latest regulatory requirements are fully understood and integrated into our design process

  • Curate and present our work at the highest level

  • Coordinate and conduct regular design reviews to ensure design excellence

  • Coordinate and conduct regular staff and team reviews to identify training needs

  • Represent OUT-2 Design professionally and promote the company's services at every opportunity


Requirements

  • Relevant work experience: 10+ years in architecture and/or interior design with at least 5 years working in a leadership position with international clients.

  • Attitude: Passion and drive for excellence, learning new things (from successes and mistakes) and solving complex problems.

  • Positivity: Strong ability to overcome challenges, identify learning opportunities and celebrate successes

  • Leadership: Strong, decisive, inclusive, and supportive. Proactive mentoring and development of team members and direct reports is essential.

  • Professionalism: Strong client management and ethical decision-making skills.

  • Accountability: for both individual and team performance. KPIs include project and staff performance as well as design excellence.

  • Presentation Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Vietnamese. Strong 2D and 3D visualisation and sketching skills are a plus.

  • Software: Microsoft 365 is essential. AutoCAD, REVIT, Sketch-Up. Adobe Creative Cloud experience is a plus, as is an interest in software solutions that improve performance.

  • Education: MBA or Degree in Architecture / Interior Design. That said, we're more interested in your approach, skills, and experience than your school.
